International Trainee Programme

Deadline: 09-03-2015 12:00:00

Apply for 2015

At this moment it is not possible to apply for the traineeship that will start in 2015.Every second year, we accept 15-20 trainees on our International Trainee Programme. All positions available in our next programme will be published on website.
We will start the selection process and go through all applications. A number of candidates will be interviewed by our recruiters together with business managers.
During the next phase we will invite two candidates per trainee position for an assessment. After that assessment, contracts are signed and the programme itself will start.
The recruitment for the next International Trainee Programme is planned to start in August/September 2015. You can also have a look at our job search for current job openings at Vattenfall.

Vattenfall's International Trainee Programme

The challenges facing the world today require people who think creatively to find new solutions. We are looking for talented, driven people to help us change the world's energy for the better.
If you are one of them, apply to Vattenfall's International Trainee Programme.

What you'll gain

This programme is a unique opportunity to get an in-depth insight into how our business works. You'll get to develop skills for your future career and take advantage of a wide range of opportunities. The overarching goal of the programme is to prepare and develop our trainees for future challenges as specialists or managers.
It is also likely to be the start of a career at Vattenfall. Most trainees have chosen to remain at the end of the programme: 94 percent still work for Vattenfall.

What we're looking for

We're looking for young people who are proficient in English, hold at least one academic degree, and are willing to travel both abroad and within the Vattenfall Group. Each position will have additional specific requirements.

About the programme

The trainee year includes:
- Six seminars
- Two short assignments of a minimum of 8 weeks each (at least one assignment will be abroad)
- Work in project teams

Trainee support

As a trainee you will be in close contact with your line manager as well as supported by a designated advisor or mentor during the programme. The advisor will also be able to help the trainees find their assignments.
The trainees will also get support from former trainees through the alumni association.
Vattenfall Business Institute, our internal training department, will also support the trainees as well as the Programme Manager responsible for the programme.

During the programme

Trainees are employed in one of our business units and, at different periods, in other parts of the company in order to get a good overview of the whole Vattenfall Group. You will be invited to participate in various training sessions. At these sessions, you'll meet trainees from other countries, which will allow you to build up a broad international network, both within and outside of your selected business field.
