Your work
Working at Private Banking International (PBI) Germany is much more than traditional banking consisting of loans and deposits. It is about providing high quality and professional services as well as creative solutions to meet the distinctive demands of high net worth individuals. It is about focussing on your client, preserving his wealth for him and future generations – especially in fast-paced and changing times. You will learn the operational business of Private Banking by working on several assignments and working in various business lines of the Products & Solutions or TOPS department. TOPS is short for Technology, Operations and Property Services. Projects can be in departments such as Account Service, Cash & Payments, IT, Property & Facility, Securities Operations as well as Process Management, Program Management in combination with Country Governance, Strategic Projects TOPS etc. A day at PBI is never the same! One day you’ll be working with senior management, and the next day you will prepare important management reports or present your improvement plans to your mentor.
In September you will start a two month introduction period at the Frankfurt office. In November you will go to the Netherlands where you will get to know your fellow international trainees at our introduction week. Here you immediately start building a network and become familiar with the bank in no time. Right after this week you will start your first 3-month assignment within Private Banking International (PBI) headquarters in Amsterdam.
Your traineeship will last a total of 17 months and consists of several assignments within your home country and the Netherlands. The traineeship is designed in a way to prepare you for a junior position in the Bethmann Bank in Frankfurt at the end of your traineeship within the Products & Solutions division or within TOPS.

- University degree of a well-known university: preferably in Business Administration, Economics or Finance
- Maximum of 2 years of working experience
- International orientation (& experience) but willing to work in a family culture environment
- Cultural sensitivity
- Analytically strong
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Flexible and mobile
- Fluent in English and German. A third language is a plus
- Affinity with (Private) Banking
- Affinity with project management and processes

In the last months of your program, this should ultimately lead to a perfectly suiting junior position at Bethmann Bank in Frankfurt.

The application procedure will consist of several rounds. First, your cv and motivation letter will be reviewed by the recruiter. In case of a positive review you will be send an online capacity test from PiCompany that you will have to complete within 3 business days. Please practice sufficiently for this test. If you successfully complete the capacity test you will be send a personality test and will receive an invitation for a Skype interview. In case you pass the interview you will be invited for an external assessment either in Frankfurt or in Amsterdam. The next and final round will consist of interviews with Private Banking in Frankfurt.
