Job Description
As a trainee you will join a 2,5 year program, in which you will be fulfilling 2 or 3 challenging assignments in different departments and sectors within Philips. For some of our trainees it is even an option to work abroad. The traineeship focusses on ‘learning on the job’, mentoring and training. You are responsible for
- Translating of consumer insights and benefits into product functions and features
- Generate and rank options to fulfill the product function in the best possible way collaboration with different teams in Philips: Philips Research, Philips HQ, Philips IT, Philips Health Suite Digital Platform
- Verify and validate functions by building and testing prototypes and running qualitative consumer trials
- Have the drive and hands-on mindset to experiment and “hack” prototypes in order to prove assumptions made.
The Business Group Mother & Child Care, part of Personal Health, is responsible for the Avent branded product portfolio supporting and helping new born babies and their parents during the first 1000 days in life, both during pregnancy and the first two years. Next to the core products we have a successful Pregnancy and Baby App reaching millions of active users each month. The Mother and Child Care team is setup to support both core product development, digital development and has a new dedicated team focusing on ventures and solutions. The main locations are Amsterdam (our HQ) and Eindhoven with a main development team at the Innovation Site on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven closely collaborating across sites and with our markets. The new venture and solution team is at the forefront of defining new solutions for professional and business to business solutions to unlock new benefits in the pregnancy and parenting domain for both consumers, businesses and professionals. The traineeship position is part of the Digital Solutions team of the venture.
- Recently graduated or will graduate latest September 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Max 1 years of work experience straight after your graduation
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, so you can persuade colleagues at all ranks in the organization
- International experience or an international mindset
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager and ambitious
- Passion for (big) data, and data analysis; have a drive for “hacking” new solutions, just do it mentality to prove feasibility for new ideas
- Speak and write fluent English

As a trainee you will receive a contract for the period of 2.5 years, with excellent labor conditions.

- If you belong to the best performers, you will be invited for the Selection Days which will take place on the 16th of April 2019 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands
- The most suitable candidates will be invited to the Traineeship Business Challenge Event in the Netherlands on the 13th & 14th of May 2019. During the event you will spend 1.5 day with similar minded graduates, working on a range of highly challenging exercises in a number of business-related scenarios. This is the final step in the traineeship selection process. In the same week we will inform you with the outcome.
- Your physical presence during the Selection Days and the final Business Challenge Event is required.
When you successfully complete the selection process, you are able to start between the 1st of October 2019 and 1st of January 2020 in your first assignment which is especially created for this program.
